Project Management
Computer Estimating
Bradley-Barnes uses Contractor III, a computer-based estimating system, in conjunction with a sonic digitizer. With this system, they are able to produce quantity take-offs quickly and accurately. The system is programmed with a master pricing schedule that can be utilized for estimates, ranging from quick budgets to hard bid projects. The system also features a summary sheet that automatically calculates the cost per square foot, allowing the estimators the flexibility to provide input to account for unique job conditions.
Critical Path Scheduling
Bradley-Barnes uses Primavera®, a scheduling program that empowers their project managers to analyze project schedules from the bid phase through project completion. The program allows any activity to be predetermined by date and analyses the schedule based on the established time constraints.
Primavera® provides an additional management tool to control projects and complete them on schedule.
Cost Controls
Bradley-Barnes uses a computer-based cost accounting system that allows weekly review of labor costs and monthly review of total job costs. These reports allow regular and systematic review to analyze and control job costs, and to detect and correct quickly any potential job-cost problems.
Project Management
Microsoft®Word and Excel® software, PC-based word processing and spreadsheet programs, allow Bradley-Barnes' project managers to control the flow of project documents, including submittals, meeting minutes, pay requests, correspondence, subcontracts, and purchase orders.
